Note: The following is an example of how to use the DreamQuest Dictionary of Dream Symbols for a daily life situation. A woman wanted more information about this waking life issue, so she used the dream dictionary and the 3 R’s to get more information and to help sort out what was going on in her unconscious mind. She wrote the incident out and entitled it as if it were a dream.
When I found those keys instead of a cheque I felt like a victim. After I looked up the words in the dictionary I realized that I had been feeling victimized around money. I decided not to be a victim anymore and went to Small Claims Court to charge my ex-tenant with leaving without notice. After leaving the court office I went to a book store and on impulse bought Stuart Wilde’s book, “The little Money Bible” and began reading it.
I was wondering how to find my ex-tenant in order to serve the papers on him, when his father phoned long distance. I told him what happened and he was shocked too. His son also owed for the phone bill; he told me to send it to him and he would pay it. I asked about the rent and he thought it was only proper that I legally pursue for it. I am continuing to do this. I do not feel vindictive, but I refuse to be a victim. Also “The Little Money Bible” is helping me to access deeper emotional reactions to money that have long been frozen in my unconscious. I feel a shift in my attitude towards money and have made some definite follow up plans.
I had many intellectual answers to my money problems. Working with dreams, however, has taught me that you have to put insight into action in order to make lasting changes in your life. By pretending that this waking life incident was a dream and doing the 3 R’s to Dream Integration I discovered another key to my money problems. I have changed my self-defeating attitudes, and my financial situation is greatly improving. .
